Individuals, Families & Couples

I appreciate seeking therapy and deciding who to work with during a difficult phase in your life can be challenging. Please feel free to give me a call, I am happy to offer a free chat and discuss any questions you may have about me or the process of therapy. My ethos is to approach our work together with honesty, trust and transparency.

Why you maybe reaching out
for therapy

  • Experiencing anxiety, panic attacks, depression and low mood
  • Going through life changes and transitions (divorce, menopause, life transitions)
  • Burn-out and work-related stress
  • Encountering family and relationship difficulties
  • Exploring cultural identity and faith
  • Experienced trauma, abuse and adverse life experiences
  • Living life as a neurodiverse individual (highly-sensitive, Autism, ADHD)
  • Struggling with eating disorders or disordered eating
  • Chronic and long-term health conditions (post-viral fatigue, ME/CFS, fibromyalgia and others)

Diversity, Culture and Faith

I welcome the opportunity to work with people from diverse backgrounds. Having experience of being at the intersection of cultures, beliefs, and values, I understand how challenging life can feel. Especially if our values and way of being, are not in-line with those of the majority.

I would be honoured to work with you and help find your footing in life and feel at home in your unique identity.

Life Changes and Transitional Stages

Perhaps you are going through relationship changes with your partner or in your wider network of family and friends.

Your children maybe growing up and flying the nest, leaving behind a new life for you to adapt to. Whatever the change you are going through, I can help you find your place in a new dynamic.

Perimenopause and Menopause

I am passionate about supporting women through hormonal changes. As our bodies travel through peri-menopause and menopause, we can encounter rapid and dramatic changes in our mood.

It would be an honour to work with you and get to know your unique cycle, as it evolves and discover how to give yourself the best physical and emotional care during this sacred time.

Parents and Families

As a parent myself, I understand how difficult raising children can be at times. We want to offer them our very best but can find ourselves in situations where we begin to doubt if we truly are doing our best. As children go through transition periods such as changing schools or reaching puberty, it can feel particularly difficult. I can help support you through these periods, so you are better able to support and hold your children when they most need it.

I also offer consultancy and workshops to parents who are parenting neurodiverse children.

Living with Autism and ADHD

Feeling like we may not see the world as ‘everyone else does’ can leave us feeling isolated and impacting our self-esteem. If you have recently received an ASD or ADHD diagnosis or feel you might receive a diagnosis. I have experience of working with the conditions. Neurodiversity manifests itself uniquely to each individual, there is no single approach which fits all.

Our aim would be to understand what your strengths and weaknesses are. How to harness your strengths and what management strategies we can put in place to help with areas where you feel you may struggle.

Chronic and Long-Term Health Conditions

I specialise in working with conditions such as ME/CFS, fibromyalgia, post-viral fatigue, unexplained headaches and other unexplained symptoms. Living with long-term chronic conditions can significantly impact our mental health.

I can help you reach a place of acceptance and strive towards balancing your lifestyle for optimal physical and mental well-being.

Testimonials
  • “I was recommended Hema’s details by a friend of mine and at the time, I had been struggling with a few things, but wasn’t sure how best to deal with them. Being of Asian heritage, therapy is generally frowned upon so finding a therapist who had a similar background to me was already so promising. Hema throughout the 8 months I spent with her listened so attentively and always created an atmosphere of safety, trust and comfort. She championed me and my narrative, even when I did not or could not do that for myself, and I honestly could not be more grateful for her help and support. I’ve truly learned to trust and love myself and would not be who I am today without her help, belief and support. I could not recommend Hema enough!”

  • Working with Hema over the last year has been a brilliant experience. Hema has supported me with post viral fatigue and disordered eating - she is knowledgeable in both areas and able to tailor her approach accordingly.
I have found Hema to possess in abundance the traditional qualities I was looking for in a therapist - she’s professional, trustworthy, a good listener and non-judging. But beyond that - what I really appreciate about Hema’s style is her straight talking nature and the fact that she’ll challenge me, always in the right measure. She keeps an open mind and will change the direction of each session dependent on where I’m at that day. This means that every session I have with Hema is extremely valuable and well worth the investment.

  • I’ve been doing online sessions with Hema for a few months now and she has really helped me through some difficult personal times. When I first decided to try therapy my health anxiety was through the roof to the point where I couldn’t function normally in my day- to-day life. This was something I’d previously dealt with alone. Working with Hema in an open, non-judgemental and supportive environment has been an immense help. She has also helped me develop the tools to work through this anxiety and tackle different challenges as and when they appear. I think overall I’ve started to understand my own feelings in a way that I was incapable of doing on my own beforehand and the growth that I’ve felt from these sessions has been great. I wish I’d started sooner.

  • “When I went through some changes in my life I knew it was time to speak to a professional and found Hema online. My struggles consisted around identity, cultural pressure and decisions surrounding my career. Hema helped me to breakdown these struggles and to really drill down into how I felt about those issues. Being asked thought-provoking questions and being able to be completely open and honest to anyone is difficult and Hema makes it very easy. She is extremely non-judgemental and very knowledgeable in her field. She makes you feel heard and is consistent in pointing out your strengths and how they can help overcome your issues.

Overall, I highly recommend speaking to Hema if you feel you are struggling with anything big or small. Sometimes sounding out issues with a professional can be the best thing you do for yourself.”
